David Harper is a Fellow of the RICS, as well as an RICS accredited valuer and an RICS accredited Expert Witness, specialising in hotels. He has worked in a wide range of courts, on a variety of cases including negligence claims, determining retrospective valuations and compulsory purchase compensation cases. He has worked as an expert for the claimant, as an expert for the defendant, as a shadow expert and as a joint single expert.
David has written the two most important books on hotel valuation, which along with his 20+ years of experience and his very extensive knowledge ensures that his experience is not in doubt. He is one of the most experienced consultants working in hotel valuation and has worked in over 180 countries. He advises on hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and mixed-use transactions, providing a range of services including buying mandates, operator selection, valuation, property and financial due diligence, arranging joint venture partnerships, agreeing and negotiating HMAs, lease renewals, rent reviews, feasibility studies, arranging debt funding, asset management, performance reviews and disposals.
